Step 2 - Create Content

  1. Once the project is created, it’s time to create your content. On the Content Creation page, click on the ‘Data’ tab and scroll down to find the ‘Import’ button.

  1. After clicking on the import button, click on the ‘CSV Template’ hyperlink to download the template file and open the CSV template in MS Excel or Google Sheet. You can also copy or download the sheet directly from Google Sheet here.
  1. Once opened, rename the file accordingly and remove the Demo Data, except the ‘Keyword’ header.
  1. Now, start adding your keywords. Use keywords to give SEOmatic a context of the type of blog post you need. One keyword will create one blog post. You can add questions, statements or titles like:
  • How-to (How can I clean my room fast?)
  • Informative (Type of roofing material is best for your home)
  • Comparative (Plant-based diet vs carnivore-diet)
  • Benefit focused (What are the benefits of a 24-hour fast?)
  • Product/Service Specific (How can I print a Kindle eBook?)

The basic idea here is to add the keywords your target audience will be searching answers for.

  1. Once you’ve added the keywords, download the file in .csv format by going to ‘File’ >> ‘Download’ >> ‘Comma Separated Values (.csv)’.
  1. Return to the SEOmatic tab and upload the keyword file. Once uploaded, toggle the ‘Select all columns’ on and click on the ‘Import’ button.
  1. Once the file is imported, switch to the ‘Settings’ tab and provide details about your Target Audience, Article’s Language, Tone and Length.

  1. Depending on the number of keywords you’ve added, the post generation process can take anywhere between a few minutes to a few hours. There is no need to stay on that tab. Once the posts are generated, SEOmatic will send you an email notification.

  1. In the ‘Optional’ & ‘Metadata’ tab, you can review the post data like the post’s slug, featured image caption, metadata etc.

  1. Once you’ve fully reviewed the posts, please click on the ‘Publish’ button to publish those posts on your Shopify CMS.

  1. After clicking the publish button, you’ll see a popup where you can setup drip publishing of your posts. Choose the setup according to your requirements and then click publish.

  1. Once you clicked the publish button on the popup, SEOmatic will start publishing posts on your blog. You don’t have to stay on the tab as it might take some time.

  1. Once done, you’ll receive an email of the job’s completion along with the published posts URLs.

That’s it. Using SEOmatic with this simple setup, you can create hundreds of SEO-optimised blog posts for your Shopify CMS in a small amount of time.
